Learn Guitar B: B Locrian

in #education7 years ago

Making good music can be like making an interesting painting. One could metaphorically have each of the 12 notes represent 12 different colors and one might have some interesting graphics maybe.

Like a flowering reaching toward the sun to gain nutrients an energy to grow, music whether live or phonographic generally requires some sort of engery source.

Modese and perspectives help us light the way of our world and understand and analyze it. Todays mode is B Locrian which contains the exact same notes as C Ionian just starting on the 7th interval. From the perspective of Ionian the intervals in Locrian would be 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. But if we make the first interval a 1 then the intervals would be 1, b2, b3, 4, b5, b6, b7 1. Because of the b5, the chord one would play would be Diminished with a b5 to match.

Tomorrow we will begin exploring the individual pentatonic modes. Tune in.

Thanks glad you have enjoyed this content will keep pumping it out!!

I love music also

Good to hear, it can definitely enhance a mood!!

Music is always good for brain. I have been teaching mind math and always recommended parents to get child involved in art and music.

yep can help them develop other parts of their brain and form an identity and perhaps learn cultural identities.

I teach mind math with Abacus to children from 5 to 12 years old. It is fun and amazing how this little children adapt to different methods.

Wow, music is most definitely an art, to each senses its passion! Cooking is to taste what music is to hearing haha! Have an art-filled beautiful day!

Will do, cooking is great as well, all exentensions of man!!

The first time I picked up a guitar and started learning guitar playing techniques my whole life changed. I think I slept with it the night I brought my first new guitar home. Its a bit embarrassing to admit, but it is true. I remember the feel of the guitar in my hands and the shape, seriously it was love, pure love.

Nice it can be a wonderful instrument. Hope you get some time to enjoy it!!!

Oh wow! That is really cool! I have always wanted to learn guitar but couldn't find anyone to teach me that actually knew what they were talking about. The video was easy to understand but it was a little bit hard to hear your voice over the background music in the beginning. Thanks so much for sharing your talent! - Ivy-

no, why would I your comment doesnt seem meaningful, association with you seems like a risk to my cred as adding value to steem

I had to read a couple of times to try and grasp concept. Feels like in order to better appreciate the sounds structure mediforiclly step back and widen the frame of what is heard. Does that cover the concept? Or is it reverse of that to focus on smaller segments?

not sure your question, it can get complicated, but if you memorize the intervals and circle of fourths, everything with the spacing eventually starts making sense. My next post will dive into it more.

You beautifully described it that Making Music is like making a Painting. The first image is beautiful :-)

yea it is a really good metaphor especially if there were good enough sufficently distinct colors
