In my thirties, a single mother living in a tiny apartment with kids, I went back to school to get a masters in history. Well, now, that was a degree that I never used. Not once. Not as education in history, anyway. I don't regret it though. I learned how to research thoroughly and deeply. I also learned how to use a computer and ever since, that has been my career. Computers, computers, and more computers.

I agree, Joanne. I have a bachelor's degree and it opened doors for me that I never would have been able to stick my toe in without it. There is almost always something beneficial to education and finishing what we start.
