The List of Whales
We begin with the list of the top 10 whales by Steem Power. I researched them on SteemWhales. This list might be incorrect and I apologize if I missed someone. The criteria to make it on this list was recent activity and having at least a few hundred of posts. There are many accounts that didn't make it on my list because they are passive users.
Here are the ones that did:
The Keywords for each Whale
In memory techniques we translate abstract information like names into keywords which should be easier to visualize. Everything like concrete nouns, active verbs and visual adjectives will suffice. We can also use other people, if they relate somehow.
On one hand keywords can be phonetically similar to the word we are encoding. On the other hand they can also be a symbol which somehow reminds us of the information. I will try to keep the images as general as possible so that most people can relate. But they will not always work for everybody. Just try to find your own keywords, if you don't like mine.
Disclaimer: These images can be funny, sexy, crazy and sometimes even offensive. I try to avoid the last category but usually we do this just for ourselves and then nobody needs to know.
@dan = den
More Possible keywords: Dan (martial arts degree), Dane, Danny's (restaurant chain)
@ned = net
More Possible keywords: natal, Ned Flanders (The Simpsons), note
Images for net: Fishing net, Basketball net, Tennis net
@blocktrades = block (of ice) + trade
More Possible keywords: this is already very straight forward
@abit = a bit (of a Bitcoin)
More Possible keywords: a bit of basically anything, Matrix code, 0's and 1's
@thejohalfiles = the + yo(yo) + hell + files
More Possible keywords: be happy I found something!
@smooth = smooth (water surface)
More Possible keywords: Other smooth surfaces like wood, metal, glas, ceramic and so on.
@trafalgar = Trafalgar Law (from One Piece)
More Possible keywords: Battle of Trafalgar (Ships), Trafalgar Square (London), truffle
Ok, you probably have no clue who Trafalgar Law is and then it will not be any help whatsoever. In that case please pick one of the other suggestions I made. But for me, a huuuuuge One Piece fan, there is no other option.
@tamim = taming
More Possible keywords: Tamarinde, team, dam
@fyrstikken = first tick
More Possible keywords: first + stick, verstecken (to hide in German), frühstücken (to have breakfast in German)
So, for first + tick I imagine a clock that starts still and then begins to tick, therefore making its first tick. This will make more sense in our final story, I believe.
@pharesim = fairy + SIM
More Possible keywords: pharao, fair
Creating the Memory Story
Ok, that was quite a bit of work collecting our images. But I am pretty happy with the outcome. Now we will weave them together into a coherent story using the so-called Chain Method or Linking Method. Here we will connect A with B, B with C, C with D and so on. But before we begin we need a major keyword to remind us about the start of our story. This should usually be something related to the topic. In our case only one thing comes to mind: a whale!
Let's begin:
Whale
A huge whale jumps out of the water and hides in a den close to the shore.
He is hunting and has a gigantic fishing net. But what is he hunting?
A big block of ice with a golden trading coin inside drifts by. He catches it with his net.
He hammers and smashes against the ice. He finally frees a bit of the coin. Payday!
Taxing Time: He lowers the coin with a Yo-Yo through a magical hole down to hell where all the burocracy is being filed away. That's why they are called The-Yo-Hell-Files!
He closes the magical hole again. Now the water is totall smooth and nobody knows.
Nobody, except for Trafalgar Law. He uses his devil fruit power to create a magical room and pulls out the golden coin from the fires below. And the whale is like FUUUUUUUCK!
Our whale is going totally berserk now. That was HIS coin. But Trafalgar Law just flips his fingers and the whale stands absolutely still all of a sudden. Trafalgar Law is taming him.
Trafalgar pulls out a large mechanical clock and hits the button on the top. It slowly begins to do its first loud tick. Then the next one and so on. Our whale dances to its rhythm.
Trafalgar pulls out his mobile phone to make a live stream of the spectacle. But it doesn't have a SIM yet. He whistles very loud and a beautiful fairy appears right next to him, handing him a brand new SIM card for his phone. The video immediately goes viral on Steemit!
Your graphics and editing is phenominal! Keep it up :)
Thank you, @steemitguide. Good to hear that from someone with your name :)
Learning a new skill AND how to apply it to become a better steemian! Love it!
Thanks, I am happy you liked it. :)
This is really a cool and different post, combining smarts with creativity makes it fun to remember the whales :)
Thank you so much, getting feedback like this makes me want to continue these articles.

I heard about this technique a few months ago. Never had time to try it :). I think this is helpful for students.
Yes, with that techniques like that students can memorize 100 new words a day, memorize entire books or study two topics in the time of one.
Wow - I'm so impressed! Thanks for reminding me of the process and reinvigorating me to try it!
Great, it really is a funy way to learn.
Omg Ned a net. Now I can’t help but think Anet—hehe.
Is that another user or just a wrong memory? :)
Dude, you rock
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, you too. :)
Yo you put so much work into this , I salute you and upvote you with my whole power which is not a lot lol :(
I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I am grateful for the little your full upvote created. I am sure you will be worth more soon enough and then - and of course before that - I hope to welcome you here again.
Let's hope I remember all of this ;) Thanks for the tips
You can only remember this when you work with it and repeat it. Otherwise you have a 99% chance to forget it again.
