Hi Steemians, how are you? Walking through this beautiful community I found @ steemiteducation a community for educators. And without hesitation, I began to follow them, with the best intention of being part of their community.
To start my contribution I am going to tell you funny things that have happened to me in the course of my work as a University teacher of undergraduate and postgraduate of the UCV.
To start, I must say that young people today are very inventive and maintain the innocence of when children.
The first anecdote was when one of my first undergraduate students of medicine asked me: Do you doctor do not have social networks? And I followed, I answered no, I used the cell phone for calls, messages and whassap, that the other was not necessary ... that student went pale, began to breathe quickly and holding his head he said ... How, Doctor , please…. And how do I communicate with you ??? to which I replied, you can call me, send text messages or WS that I will gladly answer you ...
The second anecdote was the same with undergraduate medical students, when I tried to help one of them in an exam ... The question was: which animal could cause acute pancreatitis ?, and he with the face of not knowing I said: I'll help: it's a zodiac sign "(trying to remind me of the scorpion, which was the answer) and my dear student told me:" Excuse me, I'm a Catholic, I believe in those things "...
And the last most recent anecdote, was when I asked a favor to a student that please check on his cell phone an app of dollars, to know the quote of the day, and my dear student told me: "Dollar? What is that Doctor, you? what are you doing ... dollars ... Doctor BITCOIN! ...
With these anecdotes, I would like to refer, first, to the importance that educators have in keeping us informed and on a par with technology, because if we want to give an excellent education we must change NOW! The orthodox way of how the classes were taught, and second, knowing our students well, beyond a class.
Thank you¡
