RE: Why and how did Donald Trump rise to power and do you think his tenure can help the world if you ignore the obvious negatives? @ecotrain question of the week!

I totally agree, @eco-Alex. I have a gay daughter and a boy of draft age. He's so incredibly dangerous for those living in the US if for no other reason than he is forever encouraging and emboldening ignorant racists. It's not just, oh he's a silly, simple twit. He is putting real people's real lives at risk. His immigration policy is stunningly toxic, ignorant, ill informed, backwards and in the absolute wrong direction. Stephen Miller, author of his immigration policy and the Muslim ban, is one of the most genuinely evil people I've ever seen. Trump's environmental policies are so ass backwards I'm not even sure how to begin to address them. Clean coal? Really? Is this kindergarten? Global warming will lead to global cooling, and that's why they rebranded to climate change because most people can't understand the science. He's an absolute sexist pig, and that's just not insignificant. Toxic masculinity, as we've seen multiple times in the last few weeks, is dangerous. A sexist, racist POTUS is just abominably bad. And like @mountainjewel said, he's absolutely an elite. For starters, the big money capitalists are just as, if not more, elitist than than the politicians. His appointments have been a who's who of elitist asshats. Then he gets mad at them, has a tantrum and fires them. And brings in another. And Lil' Kim is crazy, but he wasn't going to bomb the US. Even if he had the capability, he's not that stupid or crazy. It would be a death wish! They'd obliterate him. Trump hasn't created peace with that looney bird, and the fact that they like each other does not make me feel any better. And if he was disrupting anything, I guarantee they would have kicked his dumb ass to the curb long ago. The fact that Graham and the turtle, among many others are still supporting him is proof that he's doing exactly what the elite wants him to do, including create more division. If he was causing problems to the elite, the bankers, the military industrial complex, or big oil, he'd be impeached already. They're still in charge. He's just running a really dangerous circus with terrible consequences. Anarchy continues to be our only hope.
