That is an excellent post! Where does this usnea grow? I think I hit on one of my problems with wildcrafting...I need to journal about it! That way I can remember when certain things come out and where. I always lack that bit of courage to go out and actually eat something that I identified myself.

Oh and Usnea grows all over the place! Like most lichens, they grow in places that have good clean fresh air. You’ll find it in hardwood forests, on the edges of lakes, really in so many places. We found this bit this morning in Arkansas.
