to be honest, I am still waiting for this political doomsday to happen.... this article isn't the first and it won't be the last describe that "shit will hit the fan". Thusly, my question is this: what is your solution to the problem? It's painfully apparent that no concept is perfect. Any, and I repeat, any institution ran by humans is subjected to mismanagement, failure, corruption, incompetent leadership.... (so on). There is no perfect system that will satisfy all humans at all times. I do agree that keeping precious metals is a good way to go. However, investing in yourself, creating true human capital should be another point of emphasis. Keeping and maintaining firearms is another thing ( If not, the most important). It is important to note that the gold standard has it's ups and downs, as well. moreover, gold can also be a mercurial substance. the price of it is due to change. I've always figured that when paper money becomes what it is "just paper" that everyone will run and hide behind gold and other precious metals. the influx of gold would kill it's value, in my mind. if everyone has it, it won't be worth diddley. people running behind gold would ultimately create a new/old system of have and have-nots. I could write more but I am tired. sono proprio stanco lol just provide me with a system or concept that you would think has the chance of saving the day. thank you
