Biggest here, and hard to find...

in #ecency2 years ago

Today I got a picture of a large bird, which is very difficult to find and get. This time it made his nest hole very close to my house and I don't have to search the entire forest to find this bird. This is the largest woodpecker in our forest, and it makes very large holes in the tree. Even squirrels use these holes to sleep in the winter, as they are storm-proof enough and inside a strong tree. I hope I get soon also photo how squirrels are in there :)) I have seen one time them there but then they was run so fast out that I did not get good photo. And inside this same tree there are two big nests holes, this here on the pictures is a new and fresh nest hole. ( This bird name is in Estonia Musträhn , in English... it means black woodpecker it is biggest woodpecker here in Estonia )

I was use my Sony NEX-5T

And I was use my Sony 55-210 mm lens

I be soon back what new photos.

It's a wonder how this bird can make this big hole in a hard tree. The wonders of nature. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Thank you!! .... and it also makes it what one week :)) yes it is fast.

It's a beautiful bird. We in Cuba know him as the woodpecker too. Do you know with what tool you dig the big holes? It is not with the beak but with his tongue, rather with both things but with the tongue it is that he does his main job.
Greetings to you friend @foxkoit. From Havana, Cuba.

This bird tucks small chips with her strong beak , so it does it all week until the hole is ready. If the tree is fresh as you can see in the picture, then around this tree there are a lot of these chips and also the smell of fresh tree.

Yes, the nature has all the things that are inexplicable.

Si, la naturaleza tiene cada cosas que son inexplicables.

True :)

Do You know about the praying mantis and its mating. Another of the inexplicable things.

no I not know :))

I have never met a black woodpecker, a beautiful bird.

Thank you!! it also makes a strong sound, the whole forest echoes as it voices :)

I am sure that the nightingale's ears swell and he beats his head against the wall when this woodpecker screams :)

😆😆😆🍺

Really the make big hole in the tree...nice photographs, thanks for sharing 🙏

Thank you! 😁

My favorite woodpecker. They always have such a crazy look.😄

Thank you 😁👌👌🍺

This woodpecker is very beautiful. Thank you Mr. Fox for sharing this rare view with us. You're a rare talent, have a great weekend sire!!!

Thank you!! you are very kind :)

You're most welcome.

Hola amigo😘. Conozco a ese pájaro como "pájaro carpintero", supongo que deben ser familia. Un abrazo 🌺💐🌻🌷

Thank you!! ... And it is big one :))

Hi @foxkoit

What a beautiful big guy you caught ! I've never seen a black woodpecker. But I've never been to your area. LoL
I have 2 or 3 mated pairs of Red Headed woodpeckers living around my house. They made a hole in a dead tree that was used many years but once a hurricane came in, it blew that big branch down with the nest hole intact. Thank goodness there was no babies inside.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your nature shots.

JUst hold eyes on new trees , I.m sure they soon make new and fresh holes :) I think I had same problem here when old dead tree nots no longer stood up here more on the forest grounds :)

No doubt. LoL ya have to be very careful if you are walking in the woods and the wind is blowing strong. Don't want to get knocked out with a falling limb. LoLGood morning @fixkoit

Woodi-woodpeckers are true strong lip and head which can make big hole on the tree and also make few rhythmic sound while do it.

Thank you!! :)) .... I try get them more soon, now I know where are the holes :))

Love to see that cute bird. They are real engineers. Their beak must be strong enough to withstand the jerk. Squirrels must be lucky enough to find solace in someone else's home. ha ha ha.

Very true :)) and thank you that you like the small post ;)

Very beautiful. I hardly see pictures like this, I love nature

Thank you!! .... and I hope you one day can find something also :)

U are welcome... I look forward to that

Thanx :)

The pictures are awesome but have never see such birds here in Nigeria

Thank you 😁👌... I'm sure you have also, but not what this color 😁👌

This is looking so pretty bird, I liked the way you captured this bird. Awesome photography 😍

Thank you!!

It's wonderful because this type of big birds are literally difficult to find, and your angles of clicking photos are also good .
