"Greetings! I am home from Wound Care.
I had an X-Ray done with 3 views of the Right Foot.
The Phalanx Bone will have to be removed.

Foot surgery #2 is in the works for next week.
Not sure if it will be outpatient or an overnight stay.

↑before↑
I am currently cast free for a few days and then when surgery is completed, I will be casted again.
It is the right way to go and will totally clear up the wound and osteomyelitis that is in that bone.
Conventional IV Antibiotic Therapy will not clear the infection up.
There you have it folks. Fun, Fun, Fun. No, I am not in any pain just sore from the debridement of the wound bed.

"I've had a semi long day and trying to turn the brain off has been hard.
I haven't had much energy today and didn't get but a few things done.
My Aide was out sick today hopefully, she'll be back tomorrow.
I apologize for my "whining" about my foot and what I am going through with it when so many things are going on in the world.

I realize and empathize with those going through worse things than I am, however, this is right here, right now regarding my foot.
As my friend Patty pointed out, I've been dealing with this issue a long time. Patty created the picture/text for me to give me hope.
As my friend Jenifer commented stop over thinking and remember I can handle this. Which I can, I got this. Jen, knows me well enough to give advice as does Patty.
Thanks Ladies for the positive thoughts and to all who care.
I don't know where I would be without my friends who are always there especially Eileen, Desirée, Laura, Joan, Claudia, Phyllis, Jerry, Michael, and so many others for being supportive and giving me great advice. I've got to remember that no matter the surgery, I get to keep my toes/foot. Not many diabetics are that lucky. ❤
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR LOVE AND CARING! IT MEANS THE WORLD TO ME. ❤ ❤ ❤"

I have my feet still, and I know how much of an issue this is for diabetics. I have spent a lot of time in and out of hospital over the last few years, mostly with cardiac complications of diabetes. But because it was a complication of the diabetes, once the cardiovascular team were done with me, I was sent to the diabetes ward for a while. That was a real eye-opener! A glimpse into my possible future, and a good "kick in the pants" for me, too. I am still perhaps the world's worst diabetic, but my wife has a renewed vigour for keeping me out of hospital, that's for sure. I hope your surgery and post-op care all goes well. Just the word "debridement" puts my teeth on edge these days, haha.
Are you in any painkillers? I know some of them are addictive in the long run. Please recover quick.
Thanks for the question. I am currently on Percocet short term. Normally, I only take Ibuprofen. <3
I hope things go well and this problem is solved so you can concentrate on the other things! The best of luck with you in this!
