Getting ready to head to the ER my foot is in severe pain. I never have pain in my foot. Goes from deep in the Wound Bed up to my ankle. I'll check in when I get there.
So far, had an x-ray of the foot, doppler of the leg, blood drawn. Awaiting for Podiatrist to come in. Everyone is so nice and caring.
Best experience at the KH ER ever! Besides when my friend Jenifer took care of me or a family member. The Podiatrist Debrided and wrapped the wound area again. Nice and clean, great blood flow in the leg, no clots, Glucose level via blood tests was 126. Everything else okay. I was told something that I didn't really know about and that the pain that I have could actually be a "Phantom Pain" from the neuropathy in the foot. I am extremely happy that I am home and will return to the Wound Care Center on Tuesday and then Surgery on Thursday 3/10/22 to remove the bone as planned. Now, I need to stay off the foot and bed rest for a couple of days. I am glad that I went and was well cared for.
Hope your pain gets better soon. It's crazy how much of an impact pain has on how you feel mentally!
