Try to save money in a city that eats it is extremely hard. To ensure I get the proper nutrients on a daily basis, visiting the 99 cent only or Dollar Tree is a must. Initially, I'll purchase a container of peanuts, oats, and a pack of hot dogs or sausage. These 3 items, along with water can sustain me for a day. After that, I'll get some type of fruit(tomato, oranges, avocado), apple juice, and occasionally cheese(mozzarella). My cheat items are potato chips, chocolate covered graham crackers, and Shasta Dew. I've been able to do pretty good buying these foods and hold on to most of my money for other expenses.
last night i was thinking about it, for $4, I can get 2 sausage and 1 small block of cheese. When I eat 1 sausage and 1/2 block of cheese, that's about 1200 calories. I can pretty much get a full day's calories that day if I eat it all.
