Man charged with DUI after North Charleston crash that killed three people

A North Charleston man suspected of driving below the influence is charged with multiple felonies in reference to a crash that killed 3 folks early Saturday.

Antwan Dashawn Haskell, 26, of Ottawa Avenue, is charged with 3 counts of crime DUI involving death and one count every of reckless putting to death and crime DUI involving nice bodily injury, per police.

North Charleston police voice Herbert Spencer Pryor aforesaid Haskell remained hospitalized weekday.

Police assert Haskell was driving a Chevrolet Camaro that was seen dashing on Rivers Avenue. The automotive ran a red lightweight and crashed into a Chevrolet Aepyceros melampus within the intersection with Remount Road around a pair of a.m., police aforesaid.

Three folks within the Aepyceros melampus — Jaivon Pelzer, 25, of Goose Creek; Shanecquia Brooks, 31, of Goose Creek; and bush Brooks, 26, of Charleston — died at the scene.

Haskell and a traveller within the Camaro were seriously lacerate and transported to spear center.

Witnesses told police they'd seen Haskell drinking alcohol before driving, per an occurrence report.
