Right guys,
You're in for a treat. Some of you may remember reading my 2 part travel series on Dublin and know that there were many fails (but also pleasant surprises), so I decided to combine all the best bits (and even put them in the perfect order) of what you should do if you're in Dublin. For a day.
*Please note that when I travel I always try to avoid most of the tourist traps hence this route and list was created (AND tested by me) only from local recommendations and other Dublin visitors.
First, let me present this incredible route which I came up with tonight. Exclusively for you, Steemians. (I'm serious).
And here is the list of my Top 10 Things to do in Dublin:
- Have a breakfast or brunch at Brother Hubbard
- Enjoy a coffee and a cigarette (or just sit) on the Hungry Tree
- Check out the Spire of Dublin on your way back into the centre
- Have a pint of Guinness at the Lanigan's Pub (you might be a bit freaked out by the sheer amount of dolls and clowns in there but hey, it’s all part of the experience, right?)
- Check out the Long Room Library at the Trinity College (but get your tickets in advance to avoid the big ass queues)
- Check out some cool street art on St Andrew's Lane
- Order chicken wings at the Elephant & Castle (note - these guys only take walk-in reservations so prepare to wait for an hour or so, or get there earlier. Those chicken wings are worth it, I promise)
- Listen to some live music at Whelan's (or around Temple Bar for free)
- Have a late night snack at Wowburger (literally across the street)
- (If you're still alive) get a Gin & Tonic at the Black Door*
*This is the only place I haven't been to myself but my a travel buddy who is also a professional bartender recommended this so I have no doubt it's worth a visit.
Other spots that I didn't get a chance to check out are...
For food:
- 777 (best for Mexican food and cocktails, with a funky decor)
- The Fumbally (another option for a healthy brunch and good coffee)
- Michael's Mount Merrion (a bit out of the way but very highly rated for fresh fish and meat)
For drinks:
- Pygmalion (for cocktails, in the Temple Bar area)
- Sinnotts Bar (traditional Irish pub, good for watching sports)
- The Bank on College Green (an elegant bar with live piano music)
Hope this helps!
Sláinte,
Inga x

Totally with you on avoiding tourist traps. They are usually crowded, dirty and noisy. A lot like a trap, come to think of it...
Haha, great comparison! I will see if I can but I might want to keep this exclusively for Steemit ;-)
