RE: Negativity by some dtuber must end

in #dtubesnap6 years ago (edited)

Its not about skipping through videos, its about what adds value to blockchain and what is not
Therefore, if someone is constantly showing signs of not wanting to improve and do the same things over and over again - he is not doing anything good for the platform nor himself
Being a DTuber is not for everyone...and it requires much more than just lightning a cigarette and recording 1 minute of non-planned talk.
Don't take this reference as something personal I'm just picturing it for you.
Maybe you become #1 DTuber in the world, everyone have that potential - but not everyone fulfills it!
Peace

What does bring value to the blockchain? I've always thought value was added by people using it and continuing to be active on it. Why isn't being a DTuber not for everyone? I've watched your videos and you make a lot of good points from that certain perspective. I have a lot of the same thoughts sometimes but always end up reminding myself that at least to me this platform is about freedom which includes the freedom to create and interact however one chooses. I also think that people who put the effort in will be rewarded in the end and the people who don't step up will be left behind. I'm just curious and excited to see where it all goes. I see DTube as a sandbox and everyone is invited to play. I'm always interested to hear everyone's opinion/thoughts and sometimes I agree and sometimes I don't. But I always think it is a good thing that people have a platform no matter their opinion, skills, language, and disposition. I'm not trying to debate but rather just curious for some more details from your comment. I enjoy hearing your thoughts and just thought I would share some of mine even though my thoughts don't matter much around these parts. Much Respect.

Good points.

In my opinion, the things that bring value are the ones that empower the blockchain

That doesn't necessary have to be anything specific, but rather can be our constant work on our content & improvement in order to bring better quality... at least quality in a way that is perceived in these modern times

What I mean by this, is, we are the content creators here but investors as well, stakeholders

When you keep that in mind, obviously it is in our interest that STEEM reaches a certain price tag, as that would benefit us all equally

In order for STEEM to reach that, we, the founders (basically) of this platform (that's still in beta phase), must set examples of what is potentially good content & content potentially bad

Traffic is what drives every site... especially the one like DTube, big content creators didn't leave DTube cause of the money, they left it cause of no traffic

Why is traffic not here? Because, there is sh*tload of content that people can't won't understand & therefore never come back after they see the platform once in their lives

What I mean by this, it is our duty (as stakeholders & creators in one) to at least try and bring some better content with hopes of potentially improving the traffic when the time comes... otherwise, how will DTube ever grow without traffic & engagement? How will we achieve traffic if people are filming themselves for 1 minute while walking to the store saying nothing? really hard

I do understand it's not my job to tell people what to do... But I only do it cause I think about our future interests, and in reality - progress is always good; be it in life or just by making better content on the platform - progress equals to growth

Growth brings more growth... eventually STEEM growth :D etc.

Hope you understand my philosophy a bit better now, thank you for the great comment and I'd be happy to interact with you more in the future present moments :)

Peace brother.

Thanks for replying. I do understand what you mean. But everyone needs to keep the price down so I can buy more STEEM while it's low. :) I think we will get to the point of quality front runners that bring in viewers. I don't see a rush for it until there is some more polish to the sites and things are working very well. Once a lot of the bugs are worked out I think that is a better time for us to shine instead of people coming here and getting upset and confused. I don't think things are quite ready for the masses and that gives a lot of us time to grow and develop as creators. Hopefully the snaps evolve like you suggest but I have a feeling they are going to be around for awhile. I actually think that there may be an audience for those short 1 min videos. I see that there is a logo for it now. :D <ha Always a pleasure to hear/read your thoughts on things. I guess with your explanation that means that we're partners. Cheers to that!

no worries none taken. if one has no improvement and their content has no value even lighting a cigarette and while talking recording for 1 minute as an example, it is really entirely their choice , value is based on who view it, comment on it , resteem it, and upvote it. it that content has no value , no one will bother about the content or got it resteem by bigger personality like @nathanmars. and others. lol

honestly, no one force you to see a video that has no value as you say, you can actually know if the person has something good to say after few second, so all you can do is move on to the next video and engage with those you think that makes good video.

i think not everyone is in dtube because they want to be the best or no1 in the world. lots of them here as a personal experiment, a personal journey to discover themselves and their talent or showcase what they do best. it may be showing sign of improment to you but everyone has their on pace toward improving . not everyone is as great as you perhaps. but let those guys do that one minute video as a stepping stone to do greater in the future.
