What's up dtube, my name is Harshil Patel and I've been running a small experiment the past few days with my upvote power.
I've noticed the comment section doesn't get rewarded nearly as much as someone posting a piece of content on dtube or dlive. Which can cause a lack of motivation from the user to engage. So for the past few days, I've been upvoting the first four people, with a 100, 75, 50, and 25 percent upvote for commenting on my video.
The potential is there!
I think giving value to the comment section and rewarded the people who leave a thoughtful insight can help build a serious retention and engagement.

Right on. I think that if steem is to grow, it will be because content creators and websites can invest in steem power as a means to drive the engagement that one would pay to obtain otherwise.
Most websites have time-on-site as their primary measure of success, which is then converted into revenue from people clicking on ads, etc. If Steem Power can be used to obtain engagement, and the website also has extra business models on top of it, it can be a very lucrative asset in today's digital economy.
So I follow your example myself :)
Yes I agree totally. It's been really fun doing this practice. I caught myself being 'cheap' with my steempower. So this is one way to break from that mindset.

This sounds like an interesting practice. Comments are the best way to measure true engagement I feel.
100 percent. now the next test is to see if money drives people crazy and just post 'bad' comments.
I don't think it will amplify 'bad' comments. But I guess we shall see. Cheers.

Yes I really agree with your opinion, and I really like to see and watch a lot of videos and comment on their posts, a comment will increase reward for the post owner, then appreciate comment is important to maintain long term relationship.

The most important part of this site seems to be engagement between the users. Commenting, and replying is the number one way to push that, and what you are saying about using the upvote power to push more engagement in this way is soooo true.
