I'm no developer but I can try to offer my 2 cents from a design viewpoint.
Dtube might need to be more differentiated from yt. not that I consier the yt UI to be anyway bad - of course it's sure a tried and tested out design. but I feel an innovative platform need to offer something a bit different. also while I like the Steem upvote implementation, I think a view count would be useful as well.
