Bullish on what you don't have and concerned with what you do.
People are comparing crypto to stocks.
Public blockchains will adsorb mutli-billion dollar corporations.
Internet = Water
Blockchains = Islands
Attention economy: You have value because you have a voice and a choice.
@harpagon thank you for your work on Steem Engine.

thanks for the shoutout @theycallmedan!
Hi @theycallmedan - I am back again. I want to thank you for putting me on your autovoter and maybe curatorhulk is you too? I really appreciate the support. I might be a rabble rouser, but I believe in steem and will not stop promoting and trying to help little fish succeed here. Thank you again for all you do - and not just for me. You have made a very positive difference here to many. Take care, Sharon
Halfway through, did you hear about Youtube? Big advertisers are pulling money from them left and right, they're starting to demonetize and ban users accounts based off of comments they leave on others pages. This is dtube's time to shine.
They are also leaving because of the comments associated with posts directly. The internet knows no chill and the advertisers don't want to be beside it. The advertisers are going to have to change their approach, the sheep are growing up.
As much as i love Dtube i dont think that Dtube at this moment has anywhere near the resources to sustain even 1 midsize youtube content creator.
Advertising simply has the money blockchain cannot compete with right now. We need a new ATH and consolidation at much higher prices for Dtube (and other dapps) to be able to compete.
I think Susan will be kicked at the end of this year.
I heard about it but haven't had much time to fully research it. Seems to be going as foreseen up until now.
That's because it came to light that yt is soliciting a pedophile ring by making a wormhole which when you enter, you get nothing but soft-core pedophile videos and a bunch of sick bastards in the comments are timestamping when they are in compromising positions, exchanging contacts and links to child pornography.
The twist is that these companies that pulled funds had their ads shown on those videos, thus they had to do something to save their rep and dodge the outrage.
Dan you always have the best cover art. I hope you tip your photoshopper well because they are brilliant ;)
All credit goes to my lovely wife @gabbygolden
Man, the way you articulate your thoughts about the future in such a relatable way is really exciting. Makes it easy to understand and grasp the scale of what’s happening.
Your words really inspire me for some future STEEM blockchain promo videos I’m wanting to make.
Great of you to shout out the forgotten guy from Steem Engine from last time too! Top man.

A great way to empower ourselves by using and choosing our own islands over the centralized options out there that are more frequently becoming unsustainable due to the biased being created there. The opportunity continues to evolve as ecosystems begin to broaden and reach past barriers that no longer exist!

what a wonderful world that would be lol pay me for my attention.
i see BAT doing that and it’s a fascinating idea.
i think steem can attract people for the amazing apps being developed and actual users here taking part everyday. we have the users...
you think that has any legs on steem? like a BAT type of technology here?

The most pertinent point you bring up is the comparison of crypto to corporations. Just yesterday I was at my friend's house. He is a retired programmer with decades of experience. He thinks Bitcoin is going to zero. His brain is just hardwired to the corporate world. It blows my mind.
ridiculous-myspace-comparison
ridiculous-dot-com-bubble-comparison
lots of my friends think bitcoin is going to zero also
i just shake my head
at least its not going to zero in the midterm or short anyways
have a good day man
Some people are global thinkers, and some aren't. Diversity is important.
Crypto and Stocks are very different beasts. All Stocks have fundamentals. Most Alt Coins have no fundamentals whatsoever.
Well, there are two major camps of cryptos I view.
Protocols vs. Utility Tokens
Something like Steem is what I would consider a protocol
Something like Basic Attention Token I would consider a utility token.
When comparing protocols to stocks, that is like trying to compare Apple Stocks to the internet itself, does not make much sense to do that.
When comparing utility tokens, they act much like reward points where they can be redeemed for certain goods and services, IE advertising using the brave browser.
I believe protocols that become massively adopted have the potential to be a much greater store of values then shares in a centralized company. For the last ten years, if you have picked the right cryptocurrencies they have proven to be a better store of value overall then pretty much anything else. Will this trend continue? We will see. Many of course will die, just like 99% of the .coms died, but if you do the research, it becomes clearer at which blockchains have the best chance of being apart of that 1%.
That is an interesting point. At the moment, I feel like there's no use case for many of the coins associated to projects. Many of them don't even need a coin to work. So, where is the demand of those crypto currencies going to come from? I mean, why should people buy them for?
Anyway, I have been on the sidelines of pretty much everything except for BTC, MCO and STEEM.
I will try to get in some other projects later this year but I'll need a confirmation that the bear market is over before risking on any other project.
Good luck on your investments, every one!
Warren Buffet didn't invest in some tech stocks in the 90's because of the fundamentals. One of the few bad decisions he's made.
Thanks for your engagement with your videos @theycallmedan

Its incredible seeing how much things have changed in such a short period of time since the internet started to become popular. I can see that we could be close to something even more spectacular but its hard to tell how long it might take. I was surprised that the masses were so slow to grasp the internet, hopefully this wont take as long.
Blockchain is the new world!

I think DTube is going to attract a lot of followers because YouTube is slowly dying and also there are no other platforms that are viable, most of them either don't pay content creators or they have bad software integration and strict rules.
DTube needs to work just a tiny bit on the developing the system and it shall be a really good replacement for now dying youTube
It’s time to search out for these islands and build baby!! 💪🏼🙌🏼💯

I don't know if I am dumb or smart money, but I see things the same way as you. The Internet is going to change and blockchain is like Pac_man gobbling up the little pills. That is what these billion dollar companies are to decentralization.
People do not realize how much technology is changing things. I just posted about the Operating System of the home...can you imagine that centralized like Windows was? What a nightmare that would be.
Once the communities on the blockchains start really collaborating, they are going to both absorb billion dollar companies and, completely change the way governments operate and treat their citizens.
I'm pretty sure crypto can be widely excepted like internet but it will take time.
Amazing video
Crypto currency is the future of exchange
So it should be given more emphasis than any other financial instrument
Thanks for the advice they give. Recently, the price of bitcoin has been changing, we must analyze the time to invest well. With luck and work we will make the best decision.
Hi Dan every video of yours come with an amazing thumbnail and its too good. This creativity is nice and quite good video as well. Thanks for sharing @theycallmedan

I believe with time social media users would get to understand the fact that the rains that falls everywhere has been captured and sold to them. Most of the new inventions always get to be centralized and monopolized against the majority. Its good to accomodate these decentralized tools. So many wouldn't join because they do not want to be involved in cryptocurrencies, mostly because they do not understand it. I was on this stand until I was introduced to steemit.com and since then ,my idea of cryptos changed. In things like this, there are the early comers, on-time comers and late comers. Either ways, there's will be a "coming ".
Thanks for sharing a relatable post.

Ignorance is just the underlying factor. I think beyond Twitter and social media promotion, It's high time we encourage REAL-TIME #steem projects that will touch lives, even lives of the elderly and non-internet users. A community such as @Steemchurch is doing such in some nations - Nigeria, Venezuela and Ghana. We could do more so that people can feel the impact of the #steem blockchain beyond their devices. Truly, #steem has great potentials.
Dan, you are the Man.
One oldman, deep in the forests of Lihuania, has great time listening to you. (And reading)
Your 2-part life story was interesting to hear this early morning (found it here at 5AM local time).
But this one, on "the future of the ball" , is perhaps THE BEST I've seen from you.
I wish I could do anything like this.
But ... I dont even try. English is my third language. And yet so limited...
Great video dude!
I
ve been talking to my friends about that from weeks I also created accounts for 15 of my friends to use Partiko and steem it for example, but they don
t want to.They know facebook and instagram and that is it.A Universal Basic Income, or at the very least getting rewarded in some way, for our attention seems likely.. We are starting to realize the #value of #attention, and the system will shift to reflect that #mindset. At least I hope it does!
When it comes to which #blockchain companies/technologies survive, it could be that some of the ones that make it are just getting started, or don't even exist yet.. All the more reason to keep up-to-date with news and research in the sector. I actually get a lot of my #crypto news here on #STEEM!
Thanks, @theycallmedan!!!
Hey Dan, can you do a vid on how to safely store Steem? Not on Nano Ledger S or Trezor so think paper wallet is the best option?
Live OS DVD, and a piece of paper is all what you may need. Aghhh, yes, also some fair understanding how all those 5 steem's keys work.

Yeah Free Source is the new trend. Free source started slow but in the beginning of 1990s with Linux it really gained momentum and the latest free source edge is cryptos . Everything is accelerating now. The private central banks have strangled BTC to some degree from 2014 with Blockstream corporation but their hold won't last long before cryptos and the underlying technology releases to the world with full force and it'll change everything. Humanity will gain one level more with cryptos.
Yes, very well explained with nice exemple. But still I am loving this island, trying to build my self. Thanks for another great shouting.

I love how you explain the concept of monetizing one's attention span on the blockchain vs. not having one's attention span monetized on Facebook.
I don't know if I am dumb or smart money, but I see things the same way as you. The Internet is going to change and blockchain is like Pac_man gobbling up the little pills. That is what these billion dollar companies are to decentralization.
