People beg big channels on youtube for shoutouts, and despite getting thousands of more subs that way, most of them don't bother to watch their videos since they were never given much motivation beyond being ordered by the bigger youtuber to subscribe

I don't like if people beg that way. I have nothing when someone friendly asks if this would be a possible way because this person has interesting stuff to share. But pure begging and hoping this will boost the account is also an illusion. People will follow when you have something worth sharing.
