Mount Sinabung (Karo language: Deleng Sinabung) is a volcano in the Karo Highlands, Karo District, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Sinabung with nearby Sibayak Mountain are two active volcanoes in North Sumatra and become the second highest peak in the province. This mountain height is 2,451 meters.

This mountain has never been erupted since 1600,but was suddenly active again by erupting in 2010. The last eruption of this mountain occurred since February 19 2018 and continues to the present.

On May 21, 2016 at 16:48 WIB, Mount Sinabung erupted again by releasing a hot cloud. This hot cloud enveloped Gamber Village, Simpang Empat District, Karo Regency. As a result 7 people died, and 2 others suffered burns. The victims are known to be in the red zone in the Gamber Village area which is 4 Km from Mount Sinabung. As of May 22, 2016, there have been 4 eruptions. According to the officer of the Mount Sinabung post, the launch of a hot cloud caused by the first eruption occurred at around 2:30 a.m. WIB.

On February 19, 2018 at 08:53 WIB, Mount Sinabung erupted again by issuing ash and clouds that surrounded the surrounding buildings. Congratulations there were no fatalities or serious injuries.
