Hey guys, so last night I wound up meeting up with a fellow entrepreneur at Starbucks and we wound up chatting and sharing tips and shooting the shit about business for about an hour and a half.
Was an awesome experience hearing about someone else's journey and experiences and businesses they've tried. The gentlement I met with last night has had a recording studio, a business selling body kits for cars, and even a subscription box business which was pretty successful.
It was really interesting picking his brain about that and hearing about his business as I've always been curious about that business model, product sourcing, how to grow it, etc. If there's any interest let me know and maybe I'll turn it into a side hustle tuesday story or maybe bring him on for an interview.
Anyhow, the main point of this post is that I wanted to encourage you guys to connect with and meetup with and network with other entrepreneurs. I'm a bit of an introvert so this was stepping outside of my comfort zone a bit but it was a great learning experience and kind of gave me the confidence to do more of this.
Anyhow, so how it all started. Lately I've been looking into attenting some meetup groups about business and entrepreneurship, been meaning to hitup some Score.Org seminars or meetups and also have been putting some ads up on Craigslist just looking to connect with other entrepreneurs for a coffee or beer maybe once a month and maybe share or trade skills, talk business, etc.
I'd never gotten too much of a response but recently was looking to redesign a wordpress site for Rules For Rebels. Currently I'm working with a really crappy Wix site. ANyhow, wanted to bring in some outside eyes and not only get some help with Wordpress itself which I'm not super comfortable with but also get some outside eyes on my channel and business and site so put out an ad.
Of course I got all the form letter replies from guys in India, however one e-mail response stood out because the guy actually read my message and responded and mentioned he was local. That was another thing I mentioned in my ad was I wanted someone local and ideally someoen who wouldn't mind going on camera and maybe filming some of our interactions to show you guys what it's like to work with a web designer, maybe share some wordpress tips, etc. This guy was cool with all that so we metup.
Like I said fun experience he was a younger guy like myself, self employed, starting a digital marketing agency so we had a lot to talk about and I think there's probably a lot I could learn from him.
Anyhow, stay tuned as I should be rolling out the new site here soon, I'll probably get back into doing some more coaching and consulting and am going to try to get a scheduling calendar setup on the site and hopefully will be able to do an interview or film part of the process.
Anyhow get out there and connect with some likeminded people and some other entrepreneurs, you never know what could come of it.

That's great! I look forward to checking out the new site . - You are spot on about networking - I just hosted a local real estate meetup group today and it was a blast -so many energetic people interested in the same thing I am and sharing stories of successes and failures. It's always very inspirational to be around other like minded success driven entrepreneurs - if you are looking to do some local meetups - try meetup.com - you can find any type of meetup group in the world - and they don't have one , then you can start one there yourself. Best of luck to you - I look forward to the website roll-out. Keep it up!
Sounds interesting for me!
I talked to some people at Score here in Tucson and the couple of guys who I was talking to me were just looking at me like WTF. It was interesting.
I did eventually meet a couple pretty solid mentors in my everyday stuff.
