You got pretty educating video series on YT. I think, that most of Steemit users do not use openledger. But than again, I may be wrong...
openledger and bitshare wallet are the same thing. rather popular with steemit users I know

My first impression on Dtube was its bad way of allowing NSFW material to be so easily accessible and a lot of copied videos from youtube on to the site. I guess the copy thing has to be because Dtube is very similar to youtube functionality wise. Still I am comfortable with youtube if I had to pick between the two. Was not attracted to Dtube at all but since you are will be using it...
