I'm not sure what his big announcement will be, but, why Washington, DC? Surely if it were Steem2 there would be places better suited for him to be situated, no?
I will wait and see what the big announcement is. I believe that there will be an announcement, but, perhaps not what everyone is expecting. And yes! Two platforms can exist, just you wait and see. :)

Well I have seen speculation that will will build a HQ there. Also some feel like EOS could be used for voting and government as well.
Well I am torn, to be honest. My stake is now only worth 2 grand down from 16 grand. I want to believe there is hope to get a bit more than I have now, but I was a believer when it was 16 grand and look where it got me. I say Dan has a huge warchest of funds and is not a man to be trifled with. I would not want to underestimate him.

Both are a drop in an ocean. To say that social media on EOS will "kill us" would be baseless fear mongering. Nothing will happen in the short term. To the extent social media on EOS is successful, that will only spread awareness of decentralized social media among the general public, still totally unaware of such an alternative.
Interesting take. I am not sure if it would "kill us" right off, but I am not sure what the definition of being not killed is. I was here at 7 cent steem, yes we were alive. I am assuming whatever he does will be many magnitudes better than a Weku for example. I suppose this is old news now, but there is not much room to fall from 36 cents.
You can bet the farm on whatever is being built on EOS not killing us. There is no competition between crypto projects at all. All those figure heads like Justin Sun of Tron trash talking other projects are clowns. Are they even serious? Can they be so stupid as to not understand that if the crypto space is to succeed at all there will have to be so much room for growth for everyone that the concept of competition does not make an iota of sense at this point? The whole sector could use the stronger network effect from combining forces through robust interoperability between chains at this point. This is not a boxing tournament between different blockchains. That's a completely brain dead idea.

Bitcoin had for like Bitcoin Cash
STEEM community in 3 years of building process and For any business man/Angel investors will see this as huge opportunities to plug their businesses or Blockchain with STEEM community
Now we’ve third generation of Blockchain like EOS and ADA that means they can talk to each other and DApps can use as many Blockchain as they want
I’m extremely bullish on STEEM and we as community only one or two major partnership or deal or event from breakthrough and I’ll do my part in making that happen with SEVEN77 Twitter Movement

I totally respect you and I think you are doing more than anyone to promote Steem. I remember way back when you volunteered to help out at Steemit. I think you will be able to build the Seven77 community whether on Steem or EOS. After the way they have run this place, do we owe Steem(it) any loyalty?

Reason being, social media is what Steem started out on. It will always be about social interactions over here (:

I do think that he will come out with a social media DApp but I highly doubt that that is his big announcement. It will be a lot bigger than that.
Something similar to Follow My Vote? A deal with a big bank, a phone manufacturer or a government entity?

Well with steam flag Rewards running off a pile of really good people let alone all of the drama Flags...
Personally my question is how can we make this website a success when we drive way so many people who are actually trying?
And these individuals are lying to the community saying that they are returning rewards to the reward pool.
When actually that isn't the case at all and all of this is just getting burned
