My boyfriend and I had been dreaming about traveling the world together, but I've backpacked enough to not want an upgrade to my travel habits. He used to sail, so it made sense to get a boat so our home can come with us, so as our dog. This is the process of getting the boat checked out before making a decision.
We started a video blog called Our Seven Seas, since my blog's name is My Seven Worlds. We adopted a puppy who was rescued from the jungle, so he will be part of the story as soon as we are on the boat full time.
At the moment the boat is at his new home, we started to prepare it for onboard living, but we haven't sorted out the solar panels yet, that's next, follow our development and journey here: https://www.facebook.com/oursevenseas/

Loads of succes in your new moving home. This has been my objetive for a while and the one I've been working for. Not sure yet if I'm going for a boat or a 4x4 home.
Good question. They both have advantages and disadvantages but it will come down to how much work you are willing to do, money to spend and lifestyle suits you more. Let me know what you decided!
Sure will. I think that the costs are almost the same for both maintenance wise. What I like about the boats is that wind is free, clean and quiet. However requires much more knowledge.
Wow so now you are an offical marine nomad! :D Good luck and have a great life in the new home. Its absolutely awesome :)
Thanks :) Yes we are still just getting the boat ready, but in a few weeks it's going to be full time sailing :)
how much? what are you doing right to afford it?
It is actually way cheaper than having a house so I just chose not to invest in bricks and pay for them for the rest of my life. I love to travel so a house would not have been a good idea anyway but I'm tired of living out of a backpack. Anyone can afford to have a small boat like ours if they are willing to do the work. It's not about the money, it's about always having to work on it, fix it clean it, think about it. A boat is like a child that never grows up.
