Let's go to a Rice Museum today

ErJie GuCang or ErJie Barn is a 90 year old barn in the east coast of Taiwan. Back in those days it was still the Japanese colony era and the barn was built in a Japanese- western design. In 1935 the barn was extended with a three storey high brick structure, and that is quite important because I'm going to show you a massive milling machine made of wood that fills the full height of the building.

The museum has a lot of interesting farming artifacts on display and I love how they use the space for curation. The section I will show you today is on the second floor storage space. You can see the light coming through the ceiling. The barn was purposely designed like this as it needed to be light and airy to ensure the grain is kept dry. Underneath the exhibition you can see the ground level rooms and the other displays.

There is too much to show in one video so I will leave that for the next time. I hope you enjoy the tour.
