I keep trading as much as I can into steem, then steem power.
Do you think it's a good time to buy Steem and power it up? The price being at $1.70 is making me a little hesitant. I expect it to go up long-term, but I'm wondering if we're going to see a drop in price alongside SBD.
It's a great time to buy it with your earned steem dollars on the internal market, that's for sure.

IMO the SBD and STEEM currencies are affected by the BTC price, when BTC goes up STEEM and SBD seem to follow it shortly after.
Maybe it wasn't a mistake lol ... they like the small supply of 3 million and the only way to get them is to blog :)
Agree. . Also post rewards are either paid in 100% SteemPower or 50/50 SP & SBD. . SteemPower gets tied until you power down and then have to wait to get your money over time. . SBD is immediately available. . Makes sense that this would be more valuable.
I hope it keeps on growing, that would attract more people to join this great platform!
The good news is, I finally understand half of what you are talking about with steem. Took your advice and took the plunge - came over to Steemit. I don't fully understand any of this but It seems to me that as long as you make new content that people want to see then you will get paid rather than nothing from you tube or whatever your on.

Good video brotha.. And yeah I assumed a lot of people were confused with SBD having 3M supply and STEEM having 260M supply, and were confused, but maybe the USD rate is falling and Steem Dollars are converting that much more now compared to a collapsing dollar.

I half think its a major cock up. The buyers were actually meant to be getting steem but because they seen Dollars in the name they thought that was the important token. They'll eventually dump and go hard into steem.

It is utterly completely bizarre but it has got me excited. I don't think it will last, the price will most likely deep quite steeply at some point. I think that quite a bit of the demand for SBD will switch over to Steem, which has far more utility. So I recommend transferring most of your SBD to Steem.
Why does Steem have more utility? I'm still trying to understand why I should power up or collect Steem vs collecting steem dollars.
You can use Steem Power to upvote other people's posts. The more Steem Power you have, the higher the upvote. You can adjust the strength of you upvote. Therefore you can upvote more posts if you have more Steem Power. A higher upvote will also give you higher curation rewards as well. I believe you can also earn more interest on your Steem Power than SBD. Though, I'm not sure what the interest rates are.

I love the idea behind steemit, and am glad it’s getting more popular. Once you get the hang of uploading photos and imbedding videos, it’s easy to use also. The only thing I’m worried about is censorship, and how the establishment might find ways to manipulate the platform, like they’ve done with others such as reddit etc.
I think that some people are expecting BItcoin's prices to drop quite rapidaly in the foreseen future so that they're transfering their money into Steem and Steem dollars.
I actually bought some steem (not much) and transferred them to Steem Power since I wanted to grow a bit faster here. Not sure if that was smart but my influence rating went up.
I'm using this to buy more STEEM. I remember paying like 0.67 SBD for 1 STEEM. Now, it seems to be dirt cheap!
