RE: Dear YouTube: Go Suck A Bag of Dicks!

in #dtube7 years ago

My YouTube channel never got a strike for anything, with a good history dating back to 2011, I made some money, not a lot of money, but still made some... Then YouTube completely demonetized me for not having enough subscribers... Indeed YouTube can go suck a bag of dicks!

Sort:

That is what happened to our non-profit. We even had a video that got 150k views, but we were just under the 1k subscribers and just got cut off from monetization. I don't understand how this builds any kind of community. It's ridiculous. But, I guess that's not the intent. The only thing YouTube cares about is the almighty dollar.

Indeed, and apparently the dollar from large companies is more almighty to them than all the dollars they made with small content creators.

It's been said before, and I guess it will be said again, they would rather recycle clips from the Tonight Show with official permission from NBC, becoming a sort of discount Netflix, as opposed to a place where creators could be free to be unique and speak their minds.

I think it was TJ Kirk that said (and I might not get the quote exact) "YouTube would rather be the next Netflix, than the 1st YouTube".
I thought it kind of sums up how YouTube failed to live up to what they could have been.

Ooo that's a great quote. So so true. It's too bad no one wants to pay for something that used to be free!
