The more the merrier! I always lead with, "how would you like to post like you do on Facebook, but get paid for it?" that seems to help people at least check it out. But I find that they don't stay because their friends and family are not on the platform. All in good time I guess!
It's not just that their friends and family aren't on here. Even if they were this is totally two different platforms, Steemit has never been set up to act like a social calendar of events among friends and family as much as it's more a social exchange more on a intellectual level.
That is very true; this is more of a platform for the exchange of ideas and opinions than a social calendar. I think if there was that feature and a messenger type feature, steemit could be even more of a replacement for fb.
