Portable Pro Video Filming Setup!

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

See how to travel and film professional looking videos using the same equipment Tomas George and I are using today! Tomas flew from the United Kingdom to meet me in Saint Petersburg Florida with the following to produce the video production studio you see in a house rented with AirBnB!

Watch Portable Pro Video Filming Setup! video on DTube

The camera is the Canon 70D. The lens is a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L series lens. The Shotgun Mic is a Rode NTG-1. The Audio interface is a Sure X2u. The laptop is a 15” touch bar retina MacBook Pro late 2016 model. The audio recording Software is Logic Pro 10.3. The audio plugins are a Waves NS1, WavesDeEsser and also EQ and Compression. There is also a XLR mic cable, USB cable. The vlog camera is a Canon G7X MK2. First Lavalier or Lapel mic is a RØDE Microphones and a RØDELink Filmmaker Kit. The 2nd Lavalier or Lapel mic is a RØDE Smartlav+ The video editing Software is Final Cut Pro 10.3.3

In addition, I brought the Albott 70 Inch Digital SLR Camera Aluminum Travel Portable Tripod Monopod with Carry Bag we see supporting the main camera. For lighting I brought the LimoStudio 700W Photography Softbox Light Lighting Kit Photo Equipment Soft Studio Light Softbox 24"X24", AGG814 which I switched out the bulbs for GE reveal LED 60 W I believe.

We are total geeks for getting our filming right and live streaming online! Tomas George has helped me a lot to improve my setup from better audio to testing different lighting and changing my outfits. We are filming a video course named Secrets of Influence using this studio setup that we hope is helpful for learning about building a following online!

Thank you for reading about our behind the scenes portable filming setup and we hope you enjoy this video!

Love,
Jerry Banfield

Very interesting read, Thanks you for sharing it!

@jerrybanfield,
That's a very useful information! Most of people don't wish to share such great information with others. Because that's their value and that's the secret of their earnings! But respect you my dear friend! Thank you very much for sharing such useful information with us!

Nice portable filming setup !

I like this, but what I'm interested in now is how much does it cost all these equipment!?
I mean, how many people can afford it if they are starting or just trying to start doing something like that, more or less from scratch?

Setting up for some basic video tutorials can be close to free. The equipment shown here is probably around $2,000 to $3,000 total. Investing in video production equipment has given me the highest return out of anything I have ever put money into. While many of us are quick to say the cost is too high, it is easy to get started for almost nothing and then consistently upgrade over time. In the first years I made videos online, I only spend a few hundred on equipment.

Thank you very much, Jerry, for taking the time to reply me! 👍🙂

Ash happy to see Tomas got you signed up here :)

You seems too much professional xD

Nice, I was always looking for a small Audio interface like that Sure X2u. I will check that out! Thank You for that information!

I really want to get one of those self-correcting monopods. I have seen them for go pros but not for other cameras. I think those are a must for vlogging since they keep the frame steady as you're walking. Lessens the shakiness of our hands. Also one of those poof ball mics so that wind noise is reduced. In the near future!

let me know if you find one, I am also finding one but don't know the best out there with efficient price

I got you. I'll keep a look out and get back to you if I find anything good.

Can't ever have enough video can you Jerry. Have a good week friend!

interesting audio setup Jerry - I saw the boom mic is fed into the macbook, where do the lavs feed into/get recorded? I've been running a zoom h2n for several years for two talking head interviews for two xlr rode lavs. so what made you choose the Sure X2u / macbook route?

zoom h4n, it's right in front of me, me bad lol.. has only two xlr input plugs. I want the zoom H6 next..

Terimakasih @jerrybanfield, Saya tertarik dengan posting anda, semoga bisa menambah wawasan bagi orang yang ingin membuat vidio mereka sendiri.

@jerrybanfield, you are a big inpiration..
the way you help people, that teaches alot!
I am just wondering what are the best platforms to share our blogs?
instead of Facebook and Twitter..
and the problem here is only people signed up on steemit can upvote and comment, do you found any solution for that??

Thanks Jerry for showing the work to make professional videos. I will be getting going soon on Steemit and I want to have worthy videos. I want to become a witness soon and I got your course but am having some difficulty since I know nothing about programming, but I will get it eventually. I hope to meet you at one of your Steemit meetups in St.Petersburg one day.
