Good luck on your car; But just as you told us, do something else. Doesn't care if your car got stolen, your computer broke or you're losing tons of money on trading: Just keep control over your emotions and do something else (meditation e.g. is great like you said)

For me I love to play an instrument to "distract" myself in order to improve another area of life when one is going down.
