if dtube can solve the scalability challenge it would definitely be awesome !
And it shouldn't delete videos after some time but keep them stored!
The problem is that for videos to be permanently stored on steem, IPFS (decentralized video hosting) need to seed the video forever. For now everybody should just seed their own videos.

Um, while im glad yall are enjoying your reception here, there is a bit of a learning curve.
Sbd are supposed to trade at a dollar.
They were created to take volatility out of a merchant taking them in exchange for goods.
Rather than have to change prices every time sbd goes up or down, they are supposed to be pegged to the us dollar.
This peg is currently broken, purportedly by korean speculators.
This works in the authors/creator's favor by increasing the value of posts, so interest is pretty low in fixing the peg at this time.
Eventually, they should go back to 1usd and stay there.
When? Nobody knows.
Steem is free floating and should eventually rise in price to some equilibrium that makes sense to investors, whatever they decide that will be.
If it is adopted as a currency because it can be transfered anywhere in the world in three seconds or less for free, then the sky is the limit.
'Supporting the platform' requires powering up steem into steem power.
This demonstrates that you trust steem not to collapse in the next thirteen weeks.
Steem power also determines the size of your vote.
More steem power, the larger the votes you can give out.
You could self vote your steem power, but that shows a lack of class, imo.
It is quite profitable, though.
In the short term, you can vote yourself a tidy roi, but you will alienate the more knowledgeable portion of your potential audience by doing so.
So, if you really want to support the platform, trade your sbd for steem on the internal market, power it up, and start voting for folks that vote for you, or that strike your fancy.

Think about it this way: a view on YouTube is worth approximately $0.001 to the video creator. That means 1000 people have to watch your video to give you a measly $1. This is extraordinarily inefficient. $1 is about 6 minutes of labor on minimum wage in a developed country. 1000 people watching your video for a mere 6 minutes labor value or less than a can of coke.
Steem doesn't have to be very efficient to be better than ads. But it just so happens that it's actually a very efficient way to pass value from consumers to creators. The end result is that it beats ads and YouTube by several orders of magnitude.
