For this reason alone, I expect DTube to be a massive success if they are able to handle the large traffic volumes.

The latest update was focused on this. I believe we can handle a lot right now, and even then it could easily be scaled up horizontally by offering more (monetary?) incentives to run IPFS on your PC/Server.

About the 7 days payment window, STEEM actually had two windows before, one for 7 days and one for 30 days, and they reverted it to a single window. So it is definatly something possible, it's just that we rely on the STEEM blockchain, and it is also a work in progress :D
