THIS IS A VIDEO
The last couple of days have been great for learning perspective. Through some wonderful conversations I got to see others perspective of freedom and choice. It led me to the idea...are we actually free. Are we free, or are we just as free as much as we can even percieve free to be. I love to challenge what we all think we know. I would love to hear what you percieve as being free, and if you feel you are free.

I believe Robert A. Heinlein added some perspective to this topic when he wrote this in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress:
Nice! I love it! It is such a great thing to wrap our heads around, and such a deep subject.
We are most definately free, we are only ever bound by our own imagination.
We imagine fear, we imagine failure, we imagine loss. But all that is a misunderstanding of truth, we fail to claim to fruits that these experiences bring when we call them failures or losses.
Waking up to the Truth about reality, that nothing happens by accident, is an extreme crash course in advancing your well-being. When you take every incident as intentional, then there is meaning invested in it. When you search for it, and find it, then you will have gained more than your perceived loss.
And you will also be free, free from being a victim in your life. At first it will be a great frustration at having nothing to place your anger upon, as it returns to yourself, you see the finger points back at you. Then you can work even harder to forgive yourself, and see that forgiveness in all cases is about forgiving yourself, even when another has 'wronged you' .. there is only you, we are making it all up. And that means you can fix it, but you must do it for yourself.
That is my understanding, in a nutshell. I hope it speaks to you.

Yes!! I love your perspective!! Thank you for taking time to sew in here. I think it is great to think about something as simple and as complicated as this. Taking the time to reflect on what we actually think it might mean. 🙃
THANK YOU for making this Video!! I loved it and you got me thinking so much I wrote a whole post to answer you........ I might have derailed a tad lolll
But you Sir are a VERY great speaker!! please keep making videos!!
IS the ART of verbal communication getting lost?
Thank you very much! I like to write blogs, but i love making the videos. I also love perspective. I can't "produce" the content...it litterally comes on me and makes sense. Whether it is from a conversation with someone, or biblical theological ideas. I do pray everyday that God would give me a profound thought...to see something differently.
know the feeling well and it's always best when it happens that way :D feels good too when you are done!!
Thank you again for making this post!!
Our last road trip led me to make up the word "schizoFREEnia." If I take my raw milk to Colorado, I can be arrested for it. If I buy weed in Colorado and take it back to Idaho I can get arrested for it. I can take my Colorado weed to Nevada, and I can buy a hooker and gamble the night away but NO RAW MILK ALLOWED... You get my drift...
The laws are insane, but my mind is free to laugh at their insanity. :)
That is amazing! I love that word, and it makes sense. The idea that we keep making more rules and more laws to make us more free haha 🙃
What a fantastic post with some deep thoughts on freedom. In a purist form, I always would have argued that we all have freedom, there are simply various levels and severity of consequences waiting on our expression of freedom which will make us assess our level of freedom differently. On a personal level, we can commit crimes. Depending on the laws of our country, state, etc... we then assess the level of personal freedom based on whether we are willing to risk the consequences. Many of us will drive passionately (meaning well above the posted limit) because we are willing to pay the consequences. So the law seeks to shape our freedom, but is only successful if we agree to obey the law. We have the freedom not to, but at a risk. Theft and murder come with different consequences, and so while we still could undertake these activities, we will again reassess our perception of freedom based on the cost.
You, however, brought up a fascinating point where it's not just outside influences our freedom, but our own enactment of our freedom can fundamentally alter our freedom. The analogy of buying the fancy house... a freedom... comes with a self inflicted price... servitude to the bank if we chose to continue possessing the house... more indebtedness to the utility companies... and so on. As you said so nicely, we can freedom ourselves into a box where our freedom is suddenly curtailed.
Maybe from a purist's standpoint one still maintains freedom since you are free to walk away from a loan or not pay your bills... which brings us back to the consequences and whether we're willing to pay the price of these subsequent decisions.
Wonderfully deep analysis and thought provoking.
Personally, I "feel" the most "free" when I am not beholden to others, and therefore more of my actions and choices seem voluntary because they aren't required to support previous decisions or choices. I long to continue to simplify my presence in the face of government or the corporate world. Thank you for the great post!
Yes!!! That is some great perspective. Thank you for the amazing response!
heyy I like mucgo the topic that you speak ..
I have long walked through my life trying to be as free as possible and have walked many different paths ....
I have always looked for the difference, I have changed residence, country and continent many times and always tried to learn from the differentiation ...
Some time ago a reflection came to my mind and it is traveling in similarity ...
See the similarity in everything and in all and see really that we are all the same being and we are part of the same ....
And then from here, for me, freedom is very easy to see. It's just a decision of my attitude ....
Decide my attitude in front of my thoughts and my judgments ...
And from here I only believe in the decision ....
For me, nothing else is real ...
this for me is a game, the game of detachment. I got rid of everything just keep my decision and my decision is not to look for anything. Only the barriers that we have built to not see. As our friend Rumi says
blessings
That is amazing @orelmely! It sounds like you have put some real effort into finding freedom. It is great that freedom is as deep as we can think it is.
I was going to say that freedom is being able to do whatever you want. I like the perspective you brought. It makes a lot of sense and I started thinking in those terms. If we’re talking about that perspective, then I think technically, as long as you want to stay alive, you are not free. I say this because if you want to stay alive, you have to make certain choices that keep you alive.
Yes! Right! Things take on a little different tune when we change alittle how we see it. I like your perspective!
Everyone has freedom. But it's our choice whether you will free ourselves or we will imprison what we have inside.
Yes! I love the freedom to choose. As much as we might get into a difficult situation...we still decide how much we participate.
:) its our own will that decide our choice.
I think freedom is the choices we make in life. Choose not to act on the thoughts of anger and frustration, Not to do things that society deem wrong and we will lose our freedom. It is a choice of how we act and treat others.
Yes! I love your perspective. Thank you for sharing!
We are technically free as long as nobody is forcing or restraining us. The mortgage prison is voluntary, but when friends and family all reassure us it's a good normal and expected thing to do, and there's nobody around expressing a dissenting view, it requires a rare strength of will (or grace) to resist. I'm glad to have escaped that trap, though I was on the edge of falling in for awhile.
Aahh don't fall in! It is a trap. It is a perpetual cycle taught to us by the older family members. We have to break the cycle. Debt free should be our goal, but unfortunately we all know that life is like playing monopoly. We explain to family while the world plays monopoly we are over here candyland haha.
