It's been the same owner (Google) for all but the first year (Feb 2005-Nov 2006).
You are right, brandongiesing. Google was very wise to purchase it for the $1.8 billion back then. It is now a verb and used regularly. Nice to have something also like DTube that can fill other needs.

You are echoing the feeling of man, floating. As organizations grow, they change. YouTube is changing, as it has been since its inception. That creates a wonderful new opportunity for new developments like DTube to fill the gap. I'm very impressed and look forward to more development with it.
