The witness I am part of called @blockbrothers released a small statement yesterday here.
We don't need a million words to get a simple point across:
Any Hardfork that proposes to fork out any account on the Steem blockchain we will oppose now and in the future and anyone on the Steem blockchain should be able to do with their stake whatever they want.
Steemit inc. had their stake before anyone else joined the blockchain.
Therefor anyone that joined the blockchain after them knew about their stake.
I invested and worked on Steem for 2,5 years now knowing this full well.
But working on Steem and investing my own money gives me zero rights to now say what Steemit inc. or anyone else for that matter should do with their stake.
I talk about it more in my vlog.
I am part of witness @blockbrothers.

Yep. I mentioned that point earlier in the week. They were first here, large players knew of their majority stake, and most were/are aware of how it was obtained.
My only concern is the SEC related point on thecryptodrive's post. I don't fully understand the set-up there, but assume Steemit Inc have thought about this and have no intention of, in ausbitbank's words, fking things up.
Have a good weekend man, and Steem On.
And so it is. Have a great weekend man!
My feelings exactly. It's crazy that this was something top witnesses were even discussing as if it were a reasonable option. Like, seriously WTF??? People seriously need to reshuffle those witness votes.
My opinion about this is if any one is ever opted out of any blockchain it would be the same as your bank saying to you sorry we gonna close your account because we the bank aren't happy what you do with it. On the other hand if we don't agree with steemit inc we should just buy all those steem powered down by steemit inc. If you're not happy with steem leave and build your own steem coin with everything around it.

That’s true, we have no right. Only time will tell what will happen to steem 🤷🏼♂️😀

Thank-you! For speaking my thoughts too. It really is crazy this notion is being considered by top witnesses. 🤷♀️ There's quite a lot to manage when it comes to individual and then mass psychology. I can only imagine how Ned and the team are keeping clear heads thorough this ruckus. As always, i appreciate your clear consice communication Mark and that you stick to a straight forward moral compass. This blockchain is amazing! And, as a full time steemer on my phone the Steemit.com website is still the best method for accessing the blockchain at thus point. Though, @actifit is getting better and better. And, i don't play Steem monsters so i can't say how it works on a phone. I hope you feel some relief putting your thoughts on this topic out there. Now, go forward have a great day. Maybe have an awesome workout 🎶 See you next time!!
Right on @exlye 😊👍

The best thing of a blockchain is that it is immutable and permissionless, the real problem here is human nature itself, and with social media features on it, drama seems to become even exponentially bigger.
Even though in the end I think that Steemit will just secure that stake somehow and not sell it, the paradox is that people want better distribution while don't want big whales to sell, still better now than with Steem at 100$, that would really destroy credibility.
Yeah, it is indeed true that being able to talk about the blockchain on the blockchain brings extra human emotion and drama :)
This is exactly what I was thinking ! You can’t tell someone what to do with their stake ! It’s like saying no one should ever sell their steem !

Yes! Doesn't it defeat the fundamentals of why we want a decentalized way of operating?!? Smh.
I just Want to Be Able to Beat you Mark @exyle on The SteemMonsters Battlefield..............I don't Care what @ned does with the STINC Horde..............
You won't take me alive! See you next time on the battlefield!
Right on point Nicely described everything
I have never understood it when some people get so mad at other's here, you are completely right...it is theirs to do what they want with it, however I am not going anywhere, lmao! See you on the Steem Monsters Battlefield! :-)
While I believe in further decentralization, I am with you that it should be done with Steemit as long as we the community can continue to have constructive insights as to the development moving forward for the sake of all of our stakes. Thanks for sharing your passionate views as I hope they help the community relax.

Once again, you are the voice of reason. I saw that post, but I don't think that there are many important witnesses agreeing with it. I can understand the anger at the mistakes of Steemit.inc, and @ned and even blaming them for the price decrease. But now the price is rapidly increasing, because of what they have done, hopefully people will back off a bit.
Great video. Please let other witnesses understand this.
I have never seen your face get red in a video before :)
I would be surprised if this does not blow over. It does however highlight Steemit Inc. could benefit from a Director of Business Relations.
It really is that simple...
Thank you so much for participating the Partiko Delegation Plan Round 1! We really appreciate your support! As part of the delegation benefits, we just gave you a 3.00% upvote! Together, let’s change the world!

I do understand your "frustration", and I share some with you.
People only care about their own S, and this is a perfect example of it. They are concerned on how badly this moves can affect them, nothing else.
An interesting perspective but at the same time we have a duty to one another. This is our blockchain. Any action that would negatively affect it needs to be addressed. If steemit inc was using their stake to fund something nefarious, of course it would be our business. For me, what's important at this moment is dialogue. Those at the top should discuss and reach an agreement regarding the issues that have raised concerns over the weeks/months/year. I believe there is still more to this than we will ever know

I agree with you completely Brother @exyle. I am on this Platform because I Love this community. There is always people like you bringing us vital information that we need to know about and this community is (In My Opinion) the most diverse, engaging and supportive community across all other social media platforms. Thank You for all you do for this Amazing Blockchain. May You Always Live in the Abundance of Peace, Blessings and Love.

Hi @exyle, I respect your opinion regarding that everyone has a right to do what they please with their stake. On the flip-side, there also has to be trust. For Steem to be successful, investors, developers, users, etc need to have some confidence in consistency of action.
I see sudden pulling of delegated Steem Power to be an issue. I have mentioned in one of my posts that contracts should exist between delegator and delegatee. DSound had their delegation removed suddenly without notice.
Steem had 10,000 SP removed. This is going to have an impact on their ability to create accounts because of RC. Considering Steem is a Steemit Inc account, it makes very little sense why this delegation would be removed.
@jesta has a very good post explaining what has happened as well as his perspective. See link: https://steemit.com/steem/@jesta/the-recent-controversy-between-steemit-inc-and-the-community-the-premine-control-and-where-it-leads-this-blockchain
I also feel top witnesses have not performed particularly well. My biggest criticism is communication. Most of the time I have no idea what they are doing. They should provide regular posts updating the community. Threatening Steemit Inc with removing their stake is also unacceptable. However, this threat appears to have very little support by witnesses. Looks like more communication issues. I hope this can all be sorted sensibly.
This is the best and most simple position I have heard.
Too many people are using words like trust. The whole point of blockchain is it is trustless. They can do what they wish and I can react accordingly. It is a relief to know most of the withnesses and big players aren't abandoning Steems fate to outmaneuvering Steemit Inc.
Agree 100% on what you say in this video, @exyle
However, I still think that those who want to fork, then they should. Blockchain allow it. But they also should do it under their own responsability. If they fail, then they should not make anyone than themselves accountable for the failure.

Thanks for sharing this! Very interesting to hear about what has been going on. Also very interesting to know blockbrothers stance.
Totally agree with you!
First, they idealize that and second, they have the rights to have this quantity of steem ad do whatever they want with that, even if they want to put everything on market!
A hardfork won’t be good for the platform at all!

Witnesses do have stake weighted rights to say what can or can not be done.
Isn't that a way of saying what other people can do?
Upvoting and flagging are another way to influence accounts.
The only decision for a stakeholder is to either roll with it or leave.
Why should the age of a stake be relevant?
Circumstances change constantly and systems need to be able to adapt.
To clarify: I thought the current fork idea was silly as soon as I heard about the pull request - which was about a week before all the statements.
