Today I actually do pushups again!
And we continue talking about Oasis building, one of the most powerful techniques, in my opinion, for using plants to enrich areas over time. Today we show the berm on the side of the hugelkultur bed, that has a young oak tree in the middle. This berm was a result of leftover sand from digging the hugel trench.
In this berm we have planted Golden dewdrop cuttings, Saigo Palms, and now mint. There is also another plant that I only know in spanish as murapo.
I also talk a little about how to protect our alternative projects from 'normal' people, normal in this instance being people who cut things down indiscriminately. Here you can see we reused landscaping bricks to clearly delimit the boarders of the berm from what is left of the lawn on that side.
Physical communication through boundaries, markings and design, as well as verbal communication with those who are doing work on your property is crucial in order to not lose hard transformative work.

I would hope the flag was an accident
Wonderful example of repurposing materials, to provide both protection, and landscaping beauty! Have you thought about a fairy garden in there? Normal people lol... I used to always tell people when I did lawn care on the side from my main 12 hour a day job; I will do your lawn just like it's mine! I guess that's like shaking hands now days... unheard of...
Great post my friend; look forward to seeing things as they start to grow...
