What up my Steemians, welcome to the @D00k13 Digest, when recording with a mobile device such as myself using an iPhone I often find the audio to be fairly quiet. Since my videos are pretty well just “Talking Head” videos my focus is the clarity of my voice so I have found a way to boost the audio with iMovie before using my clips in the Quik editor by GoPro.
This system works for me to get good audio levels and also helps simplify the trimming process as iMovie has a much finer tool than what is a availble within Quik. On average a 300-400% boost will match the audio levels of my GoPro and when entered into Quik using the “boost” audio setting my voice will remain predominant while still being able to blend with the background music using the “mix” audio setting.
When using my GoPro for recording like this video I almost never need worry about audio levels, actually had I not tried to use clips from both devices in one creation I may never have really noticed how quiet my iPhone really is! Since the footage from my GoPro has pretty decent levels right off the bat all I need do is trim using iMovie and fine tune the project with Quik, takes all of about 15 minutes when the audio is in check.

I wonder how many people actually don't watch and just listen
I should start doing that to save some time hmmmm
But yes, that makes a lot of sense
Taking notes :)
Thank you @d00k13

You know Brother @d00k13. I never thought of this in this way. You're right though. I often look away from the video to get a drink or something like that but still listen to the audio of the video. But I also think that great thinking, new ideas and great content is just as important. I Love comical or musical content as well. May you always live in the Abundance of Love and Blessings. #zap

I need to know, How to grow in your community?
Sight should be your focus👀and audio should be done with your ears 👂hehehehe 😀 Isn't English a funny thing hehehehe
Lol, What would you say a blind person is doing when paying attention to a specific sound? Yes, they are listening but I believe it would also be considered focusing their senses 😉

hehehehe yeah I know I know :P I like to tease ya!
All good 😉
You are right though the English language is odd when it comes to things said having multiple meanings.

Yes indeed! :P
if u have any problems when record first step restart your phone to see is the problem if solved or not.. if not so re install your record app
I record on iPhone using the built in camera to take advantage of the facial recognition and focus, not sure if I can reinstall that. It’s not really a problem that can be fixed but it can be accounted for 🤙

i see maybe restart your phone will fixed if now fixed broke it haha
Naw it’s just the level at which it records compared to say my GoPro as an example, if there were options on my iPhone for gain I could solve it that way but sadly there are not.

The issue is not with my GoPro, it works flawlessly!
The issue is with my iPhone and the audio level it records at being very quiet without boosting it in the editing process.
