Youtube didn't seem to understand how their shenanigans impact real people's lives. How every little game they playfully test out in their ivory towers translates into very real consequences.
Well, while this incident (let's be fair) wasn't directly caused by their actions, as the shooter was an obviously mentally unstable borderline paranoiac, they are now learning what it means to be responsible for a large portion of communications for an entire planet.
It is a huge responsibility to bear.
And they are in a trap, being a centralized private company. They cannot play neutral, not even if they wanted to.
And that is where decentralized platforms such as Dtube come into play. There is a big future ahead for platforms which can afford to be just that - platforms. If anyone has any beef with the content distributed, it is not our problem. Talk to the courts. That's what they're here for.
