It really is weird i had this chat with a fellow steemian i met on the platform about this. Steemit is supposed to be a decentralised platform so self-censorship is in play rather than that of a central body dictating where the line is

So one would think that the platform would be a lot more open to a wider range of topics. I mean we have dporn and dtube and dlive used for porn and caming and they have a little community going for them

But as soon as you want to address taboo topics, religion, politics, sexuality people get shy about attaching themselves to the comments so you wont see many comments or upvotes since the blockchain is public you're kinda tied to it now, its like making a commitment and some people dont like that

Also there is plenty of pretentious behaviour on steemit and sucking up for naturally upvotes and also to not have such an unpopular opinion that you are down voted

Like im not advocating hate speach im just saying a free and open discourse is healthy and something the internet could do with and not have it only with your friends after a few drinks and opening up about things at 2am lol

Anyway thats the way i see it, enjoy your time in bali! Im hella jelly! I just got back from Thailand 3 weeks ago and getting back into work isn't as easy as i thought,lol
