THE GREATEST SHOWMAN REVIEW

in #dtube7 years ago

I have been a great fan of musicals for a
while now, I can’t forget watching my first
musical Grease staring the great John Travolta ,
now I love musicals but I still am selective
about the kinds I can watch. I stumbled
upon the teaser trailer of the movie the
greatest showman and I was already
captivated, from the handsome wit of Hugh
Jackman or the trapeze queen Zendaya’s
captivating beauty, the movie focuses on
the American showman who started the
circus P.T BARNUM, and how he created
show business using human oddities.

Although I was a sucker and already a fan
of this movie it still took me a while to see it
because I was busy. Even before going to
see it, several reviews from critic sites like
Rottentomatoes, Variety and Hollywood
reporter gave them an average rating and
then Instagram never kept quit either cause
every day I saw a new post of how they
enjoyed every part of the movie. Anyways,
after listening to the cast’s interview on
every talk show and watching every of their
rehearsals on YouTube I dragged myself to
the cinema, literally throughout the movie I
was in total awe (and yes I know I’m one to
exaggerate) cringing to my best friend at
every time they belted a note (Uju, I’m
sorry) this was what I always wanted in a
Musical, perfect song choices, perfect
performance and beautiful cast. Though
shot to be in the 18 century, they still
created a balance and a fine blend of art,
when I heard the song writers from la la
land Benj Pasek and Justin Paul where going
to be writing and composing the songs I
wasn’t all that positive cause I wasn’t the
biggest fan of la la land (white people
dancing around, not my thing) but they did
a phenomenon job on all the songs, creating
numbers that have a dance-pop fire that
keeps you hooked, watching the bearded lady
(keala settle) sing this is me (yaaaaaas girl)
she gave me life and showed the true
meaning of the song, another stellar
performance was Rebecca Ferguson (playing
Jane ling) performing Loren Allred never
enough (lip syncing so perfect).

greatest-showman-review-2-600x400.jpgThough they didn’t go in debt in explaining
the life of Barnum himself, showcasing a
saintly man and not an exploitive profiteer,
I guess I’d give that kudos to Hugh Jackman
for playing the role and making him into a
relatable human being. My final remarks to
Zendaya and Zac Efron for making me want
to rewrite the stars, the beautiful chemistry
they displayed was iconic, and I mean
Zendaya in a trapeze is just goals, I got to
learn that she did all her trapeze stunt
herself which was unbelievable cause I
can’t even cross a gutter without cringing,
all I know is I’m finding me some trapeze
tutorials on YouTube (no jokes I’m
motivated)

Lastly my unsung heroes those ones that
stood out without playing any major role
Martha Nichols (the bald lady in gold) and
the two oddities in white woolish hair; they
had my favorite dance moves. Anyways I
walk away singing COME ALIVE …

P.S. If you haven’t seen it, you should do so
before it’s out of the cinemas, if you have
seen it comment your thoughts whether you
enjoyed it like i did or you saw some flaws
in it and if you haven’t you could still
comment your thoughts about it.!

below is the trailer, thank me later winks
