I've always loved this piece by Chopin. The melody of the piece is actually extremely simple. The repetitive figure transposes down throughout the piece as the falling chords pull it down. Yet, for how simple it seems, it is an incredibly powerful and beautiful piece that highlights just how powerful harmony can be for a piece. Learning this piece, I imagined it as scored for strings, with the subtle changes in the sounding notes being different instruments changing at different moments.
Now that I'm back to doing covers/piano videos, let me know what pieces or songs you'd like to see me do in the future!
The overlay is from Synthesia.
The sheet music for this one can be found on IMSLP.
Enjoy,
Logan
