As soon as I heard truth vs lie was the litmus test for propaganda, I knew he was wrong.

In Latin based language, common advertisements are called propaganda. Truth is not a determining factor. Intent is.

Propaganda is any communication that seeks to manipulate the audience. This could be for political reasons or a group of mothers in your town.

We the people should concern ourselves with government propaganda because they work for us. They are supposed to have way more limits because they have the monopoly on force. For better or worse, we cannot ignore our civic duty to limit our government's power.
