Steemians!
Wow, the Steem ecosystem is growing at lightning speed. I discovered more apps yesterday which prompted me to take a deeper look at what new developments there have been.
Holy smokes! There are many! Many of which appear to have quite a bit of SP delegation, hence a pretty generous voting opportunity for creators.
It is tempting, to jump straight into these new platforms without actually having the skill to create quality content and good value for that platform. As a fellow new steemian, my advice to you is to dabble in the new platforms if you like to get a feel of them, but to pick the few that test represent your passion and skill.
Also, building a community on that platform around your passion and niche, and engaging other members of the community, is the route to success in the Steem ecosystem.

I tried Zappl yesterday and they just got 500k of steem power through delegation, and are giving pretty good upvotes. I am just concerned about it showing up under my steemit page too... it’s like a twitter post that’s showing up right over the more thought out blog posts I did. I am wondering if people are going to unfollow me because of it... I’m not sure what I think yet!
I have the same exact fears with DMania :) I think some people DID unfollow me after posting dumb memes haha. Hey, on the other hand, if you like Zappl, don't I wouldn't be too worried what other people think. If you like it, go for it :)
Yeah... I do tend to overthink everything! LOL I just didnt want to lose any of the 114 followers I do have...haha.
It's nice to have options and try out all the variety of apps out there, but eventually, I think it is best to settle into what you love the most. I realize this isn't for everyone, but I tend to agree that picking out one of two of the areas and having a bit of focus is better.
Couldn't agree more! I tried DMania, and will probably upload one or two memes in the future, but somehow it didn't fit into my other content, and I don't seem to be that good at memes anyway :D

What error are you getting? There is no restriction for newcomers .

I think the most important thing is to post consistent and quality content, if you got enough time why not post it on every steem platform that is relevant to the kind of content you produce
I think that's one of the greatest things about this platform. That we are able to filter out the most interesting topics with these different user interfaces and we don't need like 10 different accounts for that because it all just works on the same blockchain.
