Cosmic Blaze is probably the only disco-track I have ever made. It’s based on the chord-sequence in Chic’s “Good Times”. The guitar-riff and vocals have been used by countless hip-hop-acts and house-dj’s. There have been also a lot covers of this song as well.
Some of you might know these guys ;-)
LL Cool J
Sir Mix-a-Lot
Bomb the Bass
Beastie Boys
Digital Underground
Public Enemy
De La Soul
Boogie Down Productions
Chic - Good Times
But the part I have been particularly interested in was the underlying chords played by the piano. That was a good place to start. Some Arpeggios as usual, synth-bass and a simple 4/4 Beat, that's it.
On top of I used the “Star Gate Sequence” from the movie “2001 - A Space Odyssey” by Stanley Kubrick in my video-clip for the track:
Cosmic Blaze (Video)
The most interesting thing about the “Star Gate Sequence” is how it was made. There has been no CGI and Special-Effects in 1969 like we know it today.
That's what Wikipedia: says about it
(In the comments below @cheetah says that it found similar content. of course, because my quote and the quote from the site it mentioned is both from wikipedia.)
“The Star Gate sequence was one of many ground-breaking visual effects. It was primarily for these that Stanley Kubrick won his only personal Academy Award.
The colored lights in the Star Gate sequence were accomplished by slit-scan photography of thousands of high-contrast images on film, including Op art paintings, architectural drawings, Moiré patterns, printed circuits, and electron-microscope photographs of molecular and crystal structures. Known to staff as "Manhattan Project", the shots of various nebula-like phenomena, including the expanding star field, were colored paints and chemicals swirling in a pool-like device known as a cloud tank, shot in slow-motion in a dark room.[96] The live-action landscape shots in the 'Star Gate' sequence were filmed in the Hebridean islands, the mountains of northern Scotland, and Monument Valley. The coloring and negative-image effects were achieved by the use of different color filters in the process of making duplicate negatives.”
Have fun listening to my track, TT

i am totally amazed by this catchy bassline. And i like the progression a lot :)
This is really well made. Excellent mix.
thank you :-)
Awesome
Great tune. Really dreamy and great bassline. Makes me want to get into music making myself. Bought an M-Audio Keystation a while ago which came with Albeton Live Lite, but found the whole thing hard to get to grips with. Any tips on where to start?
thanks for the comment. about Ableton. its better to own the complete version (i know its expensive :-()
at the beginning its not so easy to get in. i actually find the ipad and garageband really good if you just want to have fun but later decide to work on the song more. if you like we can have a chat on steemit-chat, discords or even facebook. i can send you a couple of good ableton-tutorials. but i have to be careful not to use up all my bandwidth when we talk about that matter here through comments :-) cheers TT
OK fully understand about the bandwidth. Thanks a lot for the advice much appreciated. I think an albeton tutorial would be a good place to start
