Things that are Still Enjoyable
The characters are very memorable from Will Smith's fighter pilot, to Bill Pullman's President, and Jeff Goldblum's tech genius but Randy Quaid did not sit well with Francisco. Overall this is quite an iconic 90's movie from its Oscar winning special effects to it's touching score.
What Doesn't Hold Up Anymore
Though this is a fun movie, there are plot holes that take away from it's realism, such as Jeff Goldblum being able to write a computer virus that would work on an alien's operating system, as well as the flippancy about Area 51's existence.
Final Rating
Independence Day is a Classic movie, at least in a blockbuster sort of way.
