I'll argue there's a whole lot of fusion going on already. The part of the announcement that starts with "This is galalactic space station / We see a boogey running down in space" has those bellying percussions as African as it could get. And further down the track too, the effect repeated. I love it. I think there's a right balance. Maybe a full Afro-themed video with some real black stuff can give it that desired effect you envisage.
