Vytas Brenner. The word mix, it never sounded so good.

Vytautas Romanas Joneliukstis Stanzl, better known as Vytas Brenner. His instrumental music relaxes me, passionates me, transports me. When I close my eyes and try to listen to every single instrument separately, that makes my mind quiet, my ideas get in order. That’s my experience with Vytas music.

I wanted to do a little tribute to this great german musician, who was raced between Austria and Venezuela. Finally he went to the United States to study music on the University of Tennessee where he graduated with honors on 1972. His mother was an opera singer and a dancer, that’s where his passion for music came from. His love for the Venezuelan things marked him so much that inspired him to make this music with Venezuelan roots.

This great musician, with his talent, made a before and after for the Venezuelan music on the 70s, with his peculiar sound. It was a great fusion between symphonic progressive rock, jazz and all of that richness of the sounds and instruments of the Venezuelan folklore, all of the mixes of the synthesizers and electric guitars with harp, drums, maracas and cuatro is extraordinary.

Vytas form a group named “Ofrenda” with other great Venezuelan musicians like Pablo Manavello, Nene Quintero, Felipe “mandingo” Rengifo, Ivan Velazquez , and others, with whom he recorded his first double album live.

For me Ofrenda it’s a jewel where everybody can enjoy this fusion of melodies mentioned before.

Death took him sadly at his only 57, this pianist, percussionist and singer-songwriter, ahead of his time, has been considered one of the experimental and symphonic musicians most relevant and influent in the whole world.
