Strawberry Fields Forever (demo sequence)

in #dsound6 years ago

It is an immense pleasure for me to present in this field Dsound a demonstration sequence of the song Strawberry Fields Forever by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. This sequence was recorded in Kenwood, Weybridge, Surrey, November 1966 and John Lennon can be seen, alone in his music room at his home in Weybridge. In those days Lennon was at home, as we said, recording demo versions of his latest compositions. The exact date is not known, but it was sure around the first days of the month of November of the year 1966.

Initially, John Lennon wrote Strawberry Fields Forever evoking memories of his childhood in Liverpool while he was in Almeira, Spain, during the filming of the film How I Won The War, and recorded this demonstration sequence after his reincorporation to the film on the 7th, but he did it long before the Beatles met to record it at EMI on the 24th.

I hope you enjoy a lot of this demonstration sequence and can appreciate, well part of the story of the origin of this beautiful song that the Beatles would later record.
