This is the last day on January today, so I am still allowed to wish you all the best for 2018,
I can feel that it's gonna be tremendous year for the Steem/Dtube/Dsound/Dmania community
Last week I was showing you my version of THE STORM IS OVER NOW, it was a song request from @onenecha and he won 1SBD,
The recording went so smoothly , it was the perfect song at the perfect time!
This week my skills are being put to test with KOOP ISLAND BLUES, a request from @arhaynez, what a cool guy!

My skills were put to test because i fell sick with the flu and 2 of my tooth got extracted yesterday not the best conditions to record, but I decided I still needed to finish the song.
As Winston Churchill used to say, never let a good crisis go to waste, and being sick added some fragility to the voice,NICE!
The rule is the same every week for the song request, I have roughly a week to write/arrange/produce/record the song and post it.

From a technical point of view, there are a lot of things happening, it was a nightmare to mix.
The tempo is 120bpm to get that house feeling, the insruments are :
Virtual instruments:
Honky tonky piano, Pad, upright bass, subsonic bass, minimal techno kit, Hybrid standard kit, muted trumpet,saxophone.
Real instrument: Guitar, Vocals, trumpet sample
The inspiration is "Minor Swing" from Django Reinhardt

Nice composition! I love how groovy it is.
I really think it needs a lot of work where mixing is concerned, though. A lot of the elements in the track seem to be fighting with each other. Also the choice of reverbs used across various instruments, don't seem to work well together, atleast for me. This is my opinion 🙂
I totally agree with you! Thanks for the good feedback ! But that's part of the challenge I have every week accepting the song request, even if it's not finished i need to publish :)
It doesn't mean that I won't keep on working on the project afterwards.

Thank you! I totally understand how challenging that can be. I was once producing 4 songs a day for an Indian Reality Television show and it was incredibly difficult.
