This is the only studio recording of our song. The story of it lies under two wine, one of them has been gifted to cafe owner for us to stay there and drink the other one. We have written it under the theme of "arriving of spring" and "youth". The song's name comes from a flower called "Anemone coronoria L." symbolising youth. It took us 10 hours to complete the recording on studio. It was very fun and tiring that day. The instruments used on recording are banjo, trumpet, accordeon, drums, ukulele and cello. Vocal recordings was too hard on this because we had to change the vocal melodies on last minute. We paid recording fee by busking and it was the best part of it actually. Lyrics are in Turkish but a rough translation of it will be like this.
Lyrics
You will feel sad when you recognize,
a forgotten moment in a darnkess
It's almost like you're someone else
Waiting to be healed.
The one it smells basil from the seasons
As it rains like a rainbow everywhere
Lets drink tonight to anemone
and color the world with the rain itself
We are on the ground staring at wine skies
One shot, one moment without being together
The feel of drunkness is not from love
neither sadness nor reign
Lets drink tonight to anemone
and color the world with the rain itself.
The artwork has been done by a friend only for this single back in the day.
This is my first #smlchallenge entry I hope you guys will like it.
► Listen on DSound
► Listen from Soundcloud (If You Are Having Difficulties on DSound)
This is a beautiful song!
The lyrics are very poetic and kind of remind me of a poem by Rumi if he ever had a sad contemplative moment.
Fabulous that you guys did what you could to get it recorded by going busking. In Australia and many parts of Europe, Canada and the USA, professional busking is a very lucrative career choice.
Cool illustration too!
Great work! And massive congrats on 3rd place in SML Challenge!!
