I have Ardour too and could have used that. Audacity can be a little simpler to use. I do have some issues with actually recording in Ardour that I need to sort out. I have a nice Focusrite interface.
I do remember your interface I have the other one, the not Focusrite one :) sadly post pandemic not recorded anything so not even sure if my devices work anymore. Need to check.
I've mostly done videos lately, but they go through the interface. I have it all wired up for convenience with a mixer to take various sources.
